Zcash token holders have approved $1.5 million in retroactive rewards for Taylor Hornby, who discovered a vulnerability involving the Orchard system.
The funding comes through two approved proposals. One grants Hornby a $750,000 vulnerability bounty, while the other provides an additional $750,000 nominated by the Zcash community.
The combined award is subject to know-your-customer checks and the remaining payment process. The funds have not yet been distributed.
The decision gives the researcher a total reward of $1.5 million for identifying the vulnerability, with the next step being completion of the compliance and payout procedures.
