Bitget Hack Suspect Moves 2,700 ZEC Into Ironwood Pool
The transfer, worth about $3.8 million, could make funds from Bitget’s hot-wallet theft harder to track and recover on-chain.

About 2,700 Zcash (ZEC) tied to the Bitget theft has begun moving into Zcash’s Ironwood shielded pool, a transfer that could make the funds harder to track and recover on-chain.
The coins are worth roughly $3.8 million at current values. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT identified the wallet operator as a suspected North Korea-linked attacker.
Bitget’s hot wallets previously lost about 18,900 ZEC, valued at approximately $28.3 million. The latest movement represents a portion of those stolen funds and shifts them into Ironwood, where transaction details are shielded from ordinary public blockchain tracking.
The transfer raises the challenge of tracing the assets as recovery efforts continue.
