Pharos Network Announces Agent-Native Upgrade for Onchain AI

The proposed rollout adds testnet gas sponsorship, agent-development tools and a real-world asset interface, while broader autonomous account features remain on the roadmap.

Pharos Network announced an Agent Native upgrade Sept. 30 at Korea Blockchain Week, outlining infrastructure for AI agents to interact with onchain assets, tools and payments.

The EVM-compatible Layer 1, whose mainnet has been live since April 2026, focuses on real-world assets, payments and financial workflows. The announced testnet rollout includes sponsored transactions, allowing an application or approved sponsor to pay gas fees while keeping the original sender recorded.

Pharos is adding development tools for agent builders, including PharosMCP, an official Skill Engine and machine-readable documentation. Its Agent Center supports network-data, wallet and transaction lookups, contract calls, signed transaction broadcasting and smart contract deployment.

The Pharos Port Agent Widget is initially launching with Harbor. Users can use it to ask about real-world asset positions, vault maturity, yield and redemption windows while retaining control over execution.

The project’s roadmap lists proof-of-stake staking for mainnet and gas sponsorship for testnet in the fourth quarter of 2026. Mainnet gas sponsorship, an Agent Account specification and Frame transactions are scheduled for the first half of 2027. Agent Account interfaces and a State Economy are listed for later in 2027.

Pharos identifies an integrated agent-native stack supporting end-to-end workflows as a goal for 2028 and beyond. The roadmap therefore describes several core capabilities as future development, while the announced rollout centers on testnet access and developer tooling.

The network also lists $52 million in strategic capital, 174 million wallet addresses, 3 billion testnet users, 1.5 million community members, throughput of 30,000 transactions per second and block times below one second.

Separately at Korea Blockchain Week, Arthur Hayes argued that existing digital currencies do not directly connect money with the computing resources AI agents need.

The next listed milestones are proof-of-stake staking for mainnet and testnet gas sponsorship in the fourth quarter of 2026.
