Ripple President Says Tokenized Assets Likely to Favor Public Blockchains
Monica Long pointed to confidential transfers and permission delegation on the XRP Ledger as tools for institutional tokenization.

Ripple President Monica Long said Sept. 30 that tokenized assets are likely to be issued mainly on public blockchains, while pointing to XRP Ledger tools designed to add privacy and delegated account controls.
Asked whether most tokenized volume would occur on private or public blockchains, Long answered: “public.”
Long also highlighted confidential transfers under XLS-96 and permission delegation under XLS-75 as features addressing institutional requirements traditionally associated with private networks.
The XRP Ledger’s confidential-transfer framework can shield Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) balances and transfer amounts using EC-ElGamal encryption and zero-knowledge proofs. The system preserves mechanisms for supply verification and regulatory oversight, and public and confidential balances can coexist for the same MPT.
Permission delegation allows an account holder to authorize another account to perform selected transactions. The XRP Ledger standard was created Aug. 21, 2024, and updated Sept. 25, 2026.
The XRP Ledger is a public blockchain that supports token issuance and payments. Its documented features combine public settlement with controlled privacy and delegated account functions for tokenized assets.
Long’s comments addressed tokenized-asset infrastructure. No new XRP utility, product launch or investment program was confirmed in connection with the remarks.
Korea Blockchain Week is taking place in Seoul from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, with sessions covering tokenization, institutional finance and digital-asset infrastructure.
