Soneium Transfers Chain Operations to Optimism’s OP Enterprise Service
Sony’s Ethereum layer 2 will use a managed service for deployment, upgrades, sequencer operations, infrastructure, monitoring and incident response.
Soneium will transfer its chain operations to Optimism’s OP Enterprise service, allowing Sony’s Ethereum layer 2 to use managed infrastructure while retaining control of its network and roadmap.
Optimism Foundation and OP Labs will handle deployment, upgrades, sequencer operations, node infrastructure, monitoring and incident response under the service. The agreement includes a target of 99.9% monthly uptime.
Soneium will continue to own the network and set its strategic direction. Its team will focus on tokenized intellectual property and on-chain entertainment products.
Soneium was developed with the OP Stack, Optimism’s framework for building Ethereum layer 2 networks.
