Drift Freezes $9.2 Million in Stolen Funds as 107,165 ETH Sits
Three wallets holding the stolen Ether remain inactive, while about 23,094 ETH was moved to Tornado Cash in July.

Drift Foundation has frozen about $9.2 million in stolen funds from its April security incident, while three wallets holding 107,165 Ether (ETH) remain inactive.
The incident involved about $295 million in user assets. The stolen funds were later bridged to Ethereum, where about 130,259 ETH was split across four wallets. One wallet moved roughly 23,094 ETH to Tornado Cash on July 23, while the other three have not recorded transfers.
The frozen funds were moved through Tornado Cash in August. Their release and return require legal proceedings.
Drift plans to direct assets recovered through freezes, bounties or law-enforcement action into the DFX recovery pool. The foundation is also evaluating the future path of its DRIFT token within the broader ecosystem.
Drift has partnered with Bybit on a public bounty program offering 10% of successfully recovered funds. The foundation previously hired Mandiant, zeroShadow and SEAL 911 to investigate the incident and trace the stolen assets.
