Animoca’s Moca Chain Launches With Digital Identity and AI Agents in Focus
The network lets users carry verified identity and membership credentials across applications, while AIR adds payment, loyalty and AI-agent permissions.
Animoca Brands-backed Moca Chain launched its mainnet Sept. 29, introducing blockchain infrastructure for portable identity and membership credentials across applications.
Moca Foundation and Moca Network developed the network so users can retain control of their credentials and decide where to share them. Applications can receive certified confirmation of identity or membership credentials instead of copies of source documents.
Credentials can be updated or revoked, with those changes reflected across the network. The design targets repeated verification requirements for identity, membership and eligibility services.
Moca Network is pairing the chain with AIR, a business-facing integration layer for identity, payments and loyalty. AIR can turn existing verification checks into credentials or accept credentials issued by trusted partners, creating a common access point for users and applications.
The system also includes controls for AI agents. Users can set permissions and define the actions an agent may take before an application grants access, including limits on the scope of its authorization.
Named ecosystem partners include SK Planet, Biletinial, Oyunfor, Open Campus, OneFootball, Automobili Lamborghini, Inveo Kripto, Plume and Nansen.
Moca Chain uses zero-knowledge proofs, decentralized storage, a cross-chain identity oracle and zkTLS. Zero-knowledge proofs allow information to be verified without revealing the underlying data, while zkTLS is designed to verify information from web-based services.
The MOCA token is designated for staking and fees tied to gas, credential issuance, storage, verification and identity-oracle services.
Kenneth Shek, managing director of Moca Network, said, “Moca Chain is the foundational infrastructure for availability of identity data and auditability of identity states.”
The launch follows a plan announced in 2025 for testnet and mainnet launches in the second half of that year. The new rollout extends Moca Chain’s earlier identity infrastructure plans into a live mainnet focused on credential portability and privacy-preserving verification.
