Web3 security incidents caused approximately $793.04 million in losses across 39 major incidents in September 2026, making the month the most damaging of the three-month period covered.

September’s losses were about 4.2 times August’s $188 million total and 2.5 times July’s $319 million. The figures cover major Web3 security incidents that occurred during September.

The largest individual loss was tied to a Bitget hot-wallet incident, which accounted for approximately $387.5 million. The incident represented nearly half of the month’s combined losses.

The September total was $793,043,716, based on the combined losses attributed to the 39 incidents.
