Confirmed Web3 vulnerability attacks and phishing incidents caused about $766.4 million in losses in September 2026, making it the year’s costliest month and the month with the most incidents.

Bitget recorded $387.5 million in losses, the largest amount among the incidents identified for the month. Liquid Network recorded about $318.6 million in losses.

Centralized exchanges recorded the largest losses by category, followed by incidents involving mainnets. About $270.6 million in funds was recovered or frozen.
