NEAR Intents suspended services after a security incident with a preliminary estimated loss of $3.8 million, and pledged to reimburse affected users in full. The incident involved a flaw in how Omni’s deposit and withdrawal infrastructure interacted with the NEAR Intents smart contract.

The contract flaw has been fixed. Operations on NEAR Intents and near.com were expected to resume within an hour of the announcement, while deposits and withdrawals on 11 networks were expected to remain paused for about 12 hours as work on the Omni infrastructure continued.

The affected networks are BSC, Polygon, TON, Optimism, Avalanche, Stellar, Monad, LayerX, Adi, Scroll and Plasma. Users holding assets from those networks within NEAR Intents could still swap them for other tokens after the service resumed, the announcement said.

The incident was reported to law enforcement, and a detailed investigation report was planned for release in the coming days.
