Bybit adopted a zero-trust security model after a 2025 attack, changing how it organizes wallets and separates operations to reduce the risk that one breach affects a large amount of assets.

Bybit CEO Ben Zhou identified the use of a third-party service provider and the concentration of too many assets in a provider-related system as problems in the attack. The exchange has since spread wallets across different architectures and increased separation between its local and global operations.

Zhou also said he wants to develop Bybit’s Turkish business into a super app offering crypto trading, payments, global transfers and more investment products.
