Arbitrum Halts New Stylus Activations and Adds a BoLD Guard
Existing Stylus contracts can continue running and renewing. The guard may delay withdrawals that have not been confirmed if it accepts contradictory proofs.

Arbitrum has stopped new Stylus contract activations and added a BoLD guard in an emergency security action that may delay some withdrawals that have not been confirmed.
The pause applies to new activations; existing Stylus contracts can continue to run and renew. The guard is designed to address a risk involving contradictory proofs. If it accepts such proofs, withdrawals awaiting confirmation may be delayed.
Stylus is Arbitrum’s smart contract system, while BoLD is its dispute process. The measures change how new contracts can be activated and how some withdrawal disputes may be handled.
