Bitcoin (BTC) mining difficulty edged down 0.03% on Oct. 3, leaving the network’s measure of mining competition at about 132.72 trillion after a 4.16% increase in September.
The adjustment occurred at block 969,696 at 07:16 UTC. Estimated network hashrate was 986.07 exahashes per second (EH/s).
Bitcoin adjusts mining difficulty every 2,016 blocks to keep the average time between blocks near 10 minutes. The Oct. 3 change was a small decline following September’s increase.
