TeraWulf Doubles Muskie Data Campus Power Commitment to 1 Gigawatt
The second 500-megawatt phase is now targeted for 2029, pending state approval and Kentucky Power’s construction schedule. The first phase is expected to begin ramping in 2028.

TeraWulf has doubled its power commitment for the Muskie Data Campus in eastern Kentucky to 1 gigawatt, expanding the planned supply for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing operations as the company develops the site in phases.
The amended electric service agreement with Kentucky Power moves the targeted delivery of the second 500-megawatt phase from 2030 to 2029. That schedule depends on approval from the Kentucky Public Service Commission and Kentucky Power’s construction timeline. The first 500-megawatt phase remains targeted to begin ramping in 2028.
The agreement secures a power commitment; it does not mean the campus is operating at 1 gigawatt or that the newly contracted capacity is covered by a customer lease. TeraWulf acquired the Muskie site in May 2026 for phased development and is evaluating whether it could eventually support as much as 2 gigawatts. That larger buildout would require additional utility planning, infrastructure and agreements, and no 2-gigawatt commitment has been announced.
Kentucky Power is developing substation infrastructure connected to the regional transmission network to serve the campus. Bringing the contracted power into operation will also depend on approvals, construction and customer demand.
“Customer interest in Muskie has been tremendous, and power availability is central to those conversations,” said TeraWulf Chairman and CEO Paul Prager. He said the added 500 megawatts and the earlier target for delivery give the company more flexibility to meet prospective customers’ deployment needs.
The project adds to TeraWulf’s shift toward AI and high-performance computing infrastructure. The company recorded $44.8 million in second-quarter revenue, including $31.9 million from high-performance computing leases, or about 71% of the total.
