On Oct. 5, a user identified as 李一先生 said a wallet app he downloaded from Huawei’s official store exposed his recovery phrase, resulting in the theft of 177,473 Tether (USDT) on June 10.

李一先生 said the alleged thief changed the wallet address’s permissions to require multiple signatures. He said someone later demanded payment to unlock the address, and that after he transferred funds, the remaining USDT was taken.

李一先生 also alleged that the app’s operators maintained five servers in Hong Kong and paid to improve its ranking in Huawei’s store search results.
