A vault on Base lost about $6 million in Aave deposit tokens after six outflows, with some proceeds later moving toward Ethereum and the incident highlighting the risks of changes to borrower access.

The withdrawals followed a change to the vault’s borrower whitelist. The withdrawn tokens were converted into wrapped staked Ether (wstETH), and some of the funds later entered bridge withdrawals toward Ethereum.

Aave deposit tokens represent assets deposited through the lending protocol. In this case, the tokens left the vault in six separate outflows before being converted to wstETH.
