Ethereum Mainnet Executes First Atomic Transaction From Layer 1 to Layer 2

An atomic cross-chain transaction from Ethereum Layer 1 to Layer 2 has been executed on Ethereum mainnet, putting a form of synchronous interaction across Ethereum layers into practice.

Ethereum Economic Zone core contributor Eduardo Antuña said the transaction demonstrates atomic synchronous composability, a capability that had previously remained theoretical. He described the mainnet execution as the beginning of efforts to advance cross-layer interaction and unify liquidity.
