OKX Web3 is proposing to open modular trading infrastructure and shared liquidity to developers on X Layer, alongside preparations for public testing of spot and perpetual markets based on ExchangeOS.

The proposed change, called XIP-Exchange OS, would allow developers to connect to the trading tools in stages and use them to create on-chain markets. OKX Web3 has not provided a date for the public test.

ExchangeOS bundles order matching, risk controls, margin and settlement into modular components. The proposal would make those capabilities available as shared infrastructure for developers building markets on X Layer.

X Layer's decentralized finance ecosystem has also grown this year. Its total value locked, or TVL, increased about 11-fold and reached a record in September.
