MetaMask Staking has nearly completed its validator exit from Lido, with the withdrawn Ether expected to return to the protocol over the next few weeks.

The process unfolded without unexpected events. As the final group of validators completed its exit, Lido’s staked Ether token, stETH, had an annualized reward rate of 2.23%, at or above levels recorded since August.

Lido rewards come from a diversified mix of more than 600 independent node operators, limiting the exit’s effect on total rewards. A shorter Ethereum entry queue also allows newly staked Ether to begin earning rewards sooner.

MetaMask Staking plans to publish a full postmortem in the coming weeks.
