Ethereum activated its Glamsterdam upgrade on the Sepolia test network Tuesday, advancing a major rehearsal before the upgrade reaches the mainnet. The activation occurred at 9:53 a.m. ET (13:53 UTC) at epoch 353,024.

Glamsterdam will introduce built-in proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists and gas pricing adjustments intended to better reflect execution costs. The changes aim to improve Ethereum mainnet’s scalability and efficiency.

Developers will determine an activation time for the Hoodi test network after the Sepolia deployment, then set a mainnet launch date. After Glamsterdam, they plan to advance Hegotá, the next major upgrade.
