Anthropic has opened a public beta of Claude tools inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides for all paid plans, letting users work with files from a sidebar in the Google Workspace apps.

The Claude add-on for Google Workspace can read and edit the file a user has open. In Docs, it can revise text directly or offer proposed changes for review. In Sheets, it can write formulas, build pivot tables and charts, and process data with Python. In Slides, it can make new slides based on an existing layout.

The add-on offers options to confirm edits before they are made or accept all changes. Anthropic also introduced beta connectors that let users create and edit Google files through Claude conversations. The connectors use each person’s existing Google sharing permissions.

Enterprise controls, including compliance APIs and customer-managed encryption keys, also apply to the integration.
