Abstract plans to wind down its Ethereum Layer 2 network, with operations ending Dec. 15, 2026. Funds that remain on the network after that date will become inaccessible.

Users can transfer assets through Abstract’s migration center or its native bridge. Transfers through the bridge take about three hours.

Abstract cited limited DeFi activity, weak on-chain liquidity and stalled growth as factors behind the decision. It also warned users to avoid imitation migration websites.

Launched by the team behind Pudgy Penguins, the network had attracted more than 400,000 users and hosted more than 144 applications.

Users must move their assets before the network stops operating on Dec. 15, 2026.
