Coinbase will suspend BLAST trading on Oct. 20 as the Blast Ethereum Layer-2 network shuts down after operating costs exceeded revenue.

Blast began winding down operations on Oct. 2. Coinbase customers have until Oct. 26 to withdraw their assets; after that deadline, transfers will need to go through the Blast bridge contract on Ethereum.

BLAST was trading at about $0.00024, roughly 99% below its peak. The network’s total value locked has fallen to about $24 million to $32 million from a peak of $2 billion in June 2024.

Other trading platforms, including BTSE, Bitvavo and Bybit, have also announced plans to delist or suspend BLAST. Coinbase’s trading suspension takes effect Oct. 20, with the withdrawal deadline following six days later.
