The Oct. 7 event will cover the latest Windows and Surface developments as Microsoft works with Nvidia on local-AI hardware.

Microsoft will discuss the latest Windows and Surface developments at an Oct. 7 event focused on local artificial intelligence and its work with Nvidia on RTX Spark hardware.
The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (1700 UTC) Wednesday. Microsoft has not identified a livestream platform or confirmed which products will be discussed in detail.
RTX Spark is an Arm-based platform designed to run AI agents, creative applications and games locally on Windows devices. Microsoft has described the platform as capable of up to 1 petaflop of AI performance and up to 128GB of unified memory.
Microsoft has announced the Surface Laptop Ultra with a 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra display and up to 128GB of unified memory. It also has announced the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, which is expected to become available later in 2026 in the United States through Microsoft.com.
RTX Spark-powered Windows laptops and compact desktops from Surface, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo and MSI are expected to begin arriving in fall 2026.
Windows 11 improvements for the platform include work on scheduling through the operating system scheduler, power management, unified memory and Prism emulation. Microsoft’s broader Windows AI strategy also includes Windows ML and Microsoft Foundry on Windows for running models locally across compatible hardware.
“NVIDIA and Microsoft share a vision that agents are the future of personal computing,” Jeff Fisher, Nvidia’s senior vice president of personal computing, said.
Microsoft has not confirmed pricing, release dates or full specifications for the Surface Laptop Ultra. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. ET.
