SpaceXAI plans to expand its artificial-intelligence infrastructure with Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform and develop a Starmind AI satellite using an optimized Vera Rubin NVL72 system, extending SpaceX’s push to build large-scale computing capacity.

The planned satellite would add an orbital component to SpaceXAI’s infrastructure strategy, while the Vera Rubin platform would support the company’s broader AI computing efforts. The plan follows SpaceX’s previously outlined effort to increase its Nvidia processor count by year-end.

SpaceX completed a separate $25 billion senior-notes offering in June. The proceeds were designated for repaying bridge-loan borrowings, covering fees and expenses, and general corporate purposes. The company’s filing for the quarter ended June 30 also recorded the debt issuance and repayment. The documents did not identify Nvidia chip purchases as a use of the proceeds.

The expansion builds on SpaceX’s plans to more than double its Nvidia GPU count by year-end, including additional deployments tied to its Colossus 2 artificial-intelligence supercomputer project.

Nvidia also authorized an additional $150 billion in share repurchases Sept. 28. The authorization left the company with $235 billion available through fiscal 2028, providing a separate capital-allocation backdrop for its AI infrastructure business.

No closing date for additional financing connected with the expansion has been disclosed.
