Meta Executive Predicts AI Could Enable Billion-Dollar Solo Companies
Meta is expanding AI-agent tools for advertising and customer service, while Movida’s WhatsApp deployment produced higher bookings and conversion rates.

Meta is expanding AI-agent tools for advertising and customer service as Meta Vice President for EMEA Derya Matras predicts the technology could eventually enable single-person companies worth billions of dollars.
“I genuinely believe we will see single-person billion-dollar companies, thanks to these tools,” Matras said.
Meta introduced Meta Business Agent on June 3, 2026, saying more than 1 million businesses were already using agents on WhatsApp and Messenger to respond to customers around the clock. The system can answer business-specific questions, recommend products, book appointments, qualify leads and complete sales.
The Business Agent Platform can connect with hundreds of systems, including Shopify, Zendesk and Shopee. It also includes enterprise controls, guardrails and measurement tools.
Meta is applying the same agent-based approach to advertising. Its AI business assistant is being tested with advertisers for campaign optimization and account support, with broader expansion planned in 2026.
Meta said improvements to its advertising models increased Facebook ad clicks by 3.5% and Instagram conversions by more than 1% in the fourth quarter of 2025. U.S. click-to-message advertising revenue rose more than 50% year over year, while paid WhatsApp messaging exceeded a $2 billion annual run rate.
The company’s enterprise AI push, including Meta’s enterprise AI platform, also includes Muse agents, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code.
Early commercial results include a customer-service deployment by Brazilian car-rental company Movida. Its WhatsApp agent handled vehicle selection, pricing, booking and payment, with 85% of customer conversations resolved without team assistance.
Movida recorded 44% more daily bookings through WhatsApp during the measured month than during the corresponding month of 2025. Its conversion rate rose 54%, from 9.7% to 14.9%, in the fourth week.
“When Meta brought us this vision of an AI agent on WhatsApp, we knew it was going to push the boundaries of what conversational commerce can be,” Movida CEO Gustavo Moscatelli said.
