OpenAI announced College Planner for ChatGPT for Teens on Oct. 7, 2026, a forthcoming feature designed to help younger users organize and plan college applications through the chatbot’s conversational interface.
ChatGPT for Teens was introduced in September 2026 and is tailored to younger audiences. College Planner places application-planning functions inside the service, allowing students to manage parts of the college application process through ChatGPT.
The update also highlights flashcards, quizzes and a teen AI council as additional education-focused features.
OpenAI’s education offerings include ChatGPT Edu, which supports universities. The College Planner addition extends those tools to younger users preparing for college applications.
