Polkadot has launched dotUSD, a native stablecoin governed through the network’s on-chain decision-making system rather than by a single issuing company.

DOT DAO manages dotUSD through OpenGov, Polkadot’s on-chain governance mechanism. The structure gives the network’s decentralized autonomous organization responsibility for the stablecoin’s administration.

The launch makes dotUSD a native part of the Polkadot network and is designed to reduce reliance on centralized issuers. No single company or entity controls the stablecoin under the announced governance model.

The rollout adds a network-governed stablecoin to Polkadot’s ecosystem, with future administration handled through DOT DAO’s governance process.
