XRPL Permission Delegation Nears Activation With Key Controls Intact
The upgrade has 30 of 35 validator votes and could activate Thursday evening if support remains above the required threshold.

PermissionDelegationV1_1 is nearing activation on the XRP Ledger, a change that will let accounts assign specific tasks to other accounts without handing over control of their primary keys.
The amendment’s earliest activation threshold is 5:25 p.m. ET (21:25 UTC) Thursday, Oct. 8, after 14 consecutive days of sufficient validator support. The latest tally shows 30 of 35 trusted validators supporting it; 29 votes are required to keep the countdown running.
If support falls to 80% or below before the threshold, the countdown resets. Activation may occur shortly after the threshold because amendments take effect on eligible flag ledgers, which arrive roughly every 16.5 minutes. The current ledger schedule points to about 5:42 p.m. ET (21:42 UTC).
The upgrade adds a DelegateSet transaction and Delegate ledger object. Each delegation can cover up to 10 permissions, including narrowly defined transaction functions, and can later be changed or revoked. PermissionDelegationV1_1, introduced with XRPL server version 3.3.0, replaces an earlier version that was disabled after a critical bug was found.
