Algorand’s ALGO Rises 23% Before Pulling Back on Oct. 8
ALGO reached $0.14355 and closed at $0.13815 as traders focused on Algorand’s progress toward post-quantum security.

Algorand’s ALGO token rose 23% from its Oct. 8 open to an intraday high of $0.14355 before paring gains, drawing attention to the network’s post-quantum security work.
ALGO opened at $0.11646 and closed at $0.13815, while daily trading volume reached $2.89 million. Volume was $791,340 on Oct. 7.
Algorand has used Falcon-based State Proofs to protect blockchain history since 2022 and completed a quantum-resistant transaction on its mainnet in 2025. The August v5.0.0 release added native Falcon-1024 accounts to Algorand’s mainnet.
The project’s roadmap targets broad quantum resilience by the end of 2027, including post-quantum multisignature support and further work on quantum-resistant verifiable random functions and consensus signatures. Falcon is a post-quantum signature scheme selected by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Algorand has not linked ALGO’s price move to the security upgrades. Its post-quantum work remains incomplete, with consensus-level protections still under development.
