Google Labs launched Playground, an experimental platform that lets U.S. users 18 and older create and share playable games with natural-language prompts instead of programming.

Users describe a game concept through a conversational interface, then refine its rules, characters and environments. Playground supports 2D and 3D games that users can test in a browser before sharing through private links or the community gallery.

The platform supports single-player or multiplayer modes across browsers, laptops and mobile devices. It also includes profiles and player nicknames, along with community features such as leaderboards.

Google plans to integrate Playground with Unity Spark, a creation experience that remains in testing and is expected to launch soon. The integration is expected to add professional-level game mechanics and higher-fidelity 3D capabilities.

Unity Spark will also connect creators to thousands of art assets through the Unity Asset Store. The planned expansion would give users more tools and content for building games without traditional programming experience.
