Anthropic launched Cyber Mission, a cybersecurity initiative focused on protecting critical infrastructure and improving the security of open-source software.

The initiative’s critical infrastructure program will support 11 security service providers with access to advanced Claude models, on-site engineers and threat research support. The work will cover systems such as electric grids, water supplies and transportation networks.

Participants include Accenture, CrowdStrike, Deloitte and PwC.

A separate program, OSS Scanner, will scan selected open-source projects for vulnerabilities at no cost and provide suggested fixes where available.

The initiative combines security-provider support with free vulnerability scanning and repair recommendations for selected open-source projects.
