Justin Sun Names Five AI-Era Opportunity Areas, Including Crypto
Sun highlighted crypto, academic data, biopharmaceuticals, financial and insurance algorithms, and AI basic services as fields for innovation.

Justin Sun identified crypto, academic data, biopharmaceuticals, financial and insurance algorithms, and AI basic services as five areas with potential for innovation as artificial intelligence expands across industries.
Sun said crypto is naturally suited to AI API payments because it offers instant settlement and supports computation below traditional currency units. He previously predicted that crypto-using AI agents would become the industry’s largest application category within five years.
He also highlighted academic fields such as astronomy and biology, where large amounts of experimental and observational data could be processed with AI. Sun said those fields have significant opportunities because they generate abundant data but often lack sufficient tools to analyze it.
In biopharmaceuticals and genetic health management, Sun pointed to drug development and genetic-sequencing analysis. He said genetic data could be combined with AI to predict future health-management needs.
Sun also identified financial and insurance sectors, particularly businesses connected to life and health, as areas awaiting major changes. He said existing algorithms in those fields could be rebuilt using new logic and methods.
The fifth area was AI basic services, including data cleaning and labeling for large language models. Sun cited Scale AI’s sale to Facebook for a price in the tens of billions of dollars as evidence of the sector’s commercial value.
Sun said people between 20 and 40 are in their most creative years and urged young people to pursue opportunities emerging in the AI era.
