Chainlink Launches Vault Adapters as Large LINK Transactions Hit 2026 High

CCIP Vault Adapters let DeFi vaults accept deposits from more than 80 blockchains, while 681 LINK transactions worth at least $100,000 were recorded Oct. 8 UTC.

Chainlink launched CCIP Vault Adapters on Oct. 8, allowing decentralized finance vaults to accept deposits from more than 80 blockchains while keeping operations on one home chain.

The adapters use Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol to reduce the need for users to bridge assets, change networks and complete multiple transactions. The listed adopters and ecosystem participants included Aave, Lombard, United Stables, Veda, Venus, Re, World Liberty Financial, Accountable, Turtle, Saturn, Huma Finance and RockawayX.

The launch coincided with a sharp increase in large Chainlink (LINK) transactions. The daily count reached 681 transactions valued at $100,000 or more on Oct. 8, the highest level in 2026 and the highest since Nov. 19, 2025. The measure covers large transfers or transactions and does not show whether holders were buying, selling or moving tokens between wallets.

LINK closed Oct. 8 at $12.70, based on UTC market data. Its market capitalization was $9.97 billion, while 24-hour trading volume reached $369.34 million. The token traded as high as $13.366 and as low as $12.114 during the day.

The adapters are designed to address liquidity fragmentation across blockchain networks. A vault can remain deployed and accounted for on one chain while accepting deposits from users holding assets elsewhere.

The launch followed the Sept. 28 introduction of CCIP 2.0, which added optional cross-chain verifiers, configurable confirmation speeds, modular fees and compliance options. The new adapters extend that cross-chain infrastructure to deposits into DeFi vaults.
