The Cardano Foundation is participating in the University of Nicosia’s Fall 2026 blockchain and digital-assets course through guest instruction and 25 sponsored Advanced Track places valued at €4,975.

The online course began Sept. 28 after enrollment opened Sept. 24. Students can complete the first eight weeks through a free Introductory Track. Weeks 9 through 12 are available through an Advanced Track priced at €199.

The sponsored places provide student access to the Advanced Track. John Greene, a technical writer at the Cardano Foundation, is listed as an industry guest contributor.

Topics range from major blockchain networks and smart-contract platforms to digital-asset custody, DeFi, tokenized assets, regulation and uses of artificial intelligence in blockchain systems. Industry sessions also involve Ripple, Trezor, Avalanche and Masumi Network, alongside University of Nicosia faculty.

More than 150,000 learners from over 120 countries have taken the course since it launched in 2014. Advanced Track students receive a blockchain-verifiable certificate, while students who complete the Advanced Track receive a Trezor Model T hardware wallet.

Professor George Giaglis, executive director of the Institute for the Future at the University of Nicosia, said the university launched the course in 2014 because students had few opportunities to study Bitcoin within the university system.

“The first eight weeks are free to anyone with an internet connection, and they always will be,” Giaglis said.

The Cardano Foundation also operates Cardano Academy, which offers online courses covering blockchain fundamentals, staking, smart contracts, non-fungible tokens and governance.
