Aptos Commits More Than $50 Million to Trading and AI Infrastructure
The initiative covers products, research, protocol infrastructure and a strategic partner fund, with Decibel and Shelby at its center.

Aptos Foundation and Aptos Labs committed more than $50 million to trading and artificial intelligence initiatives, putting Decibel and Shelby at the center of the network’s infrastructure strategy.
The money is earmarked for Aptos-built products, research, core protocol work and a fund backing trading and AI partners. The initiative positions Aptos around institutional trading and autonomous onchain systems.
Decibel launched on the Aptos mainnet Feb. 27, 2026, as a decentralized perpetual exchange built around an onchain central limit order book. The platform has surpassed $1 billion in cumulative trading volume and operates as a fully onchain trading engine for spot markets, perpetuals and vault strategies.
Decibel’s 2026 roadmap includes encrypted-mempool protection and agentic trading modes. Aptos also lists encrypted mempools, multi-leader consensus and confidential perpetual trading among its future infrastructure priorities. The announcement does not establish launch dates for those features.
Shelby provides storage infrastructure intended for workloads involving AI agents. Its architecture includes cryptographic proof for every data access, linking storage verification to the development of autonomous systems.
Aptos’ stablecoin market capitalization reached $1.93 billion, nearly 10 times its level in late 2024. Real-world assets on the network reached $1.2 billion, with BlackRock, Franklin Templeton and Apollo Global among the asset managers deployed on Aptos.
Aptos (APT), the network’s native asset, is used for transaction fees, staking and governance. The new commitment connects the token’s network role with the expansion of Aptos trading, storage and AI infrastructure.
The program’s next milestones are tied to Decibel’s roadmap and the development of the listed Aptos infrastructure priorities, including encrypted mempools and confidential perpetual trading.
