79thVault recovered 15,000 BNB worth roughly $11 million from the wallet linked to the Oct. 7 drain of its 79AU liquidity pool, but later on-chain accounting leaves the final recovery rate unsettled.

The returned amount equals about 92% of the initially reported 16,249 BNB loss. The funds were sent to a wallet designated by the 79thVault team on Oct. 9, while another 30 BNB was deposited at KuCoin.

A separate review of the transactions found that two wallets removed $14.35 million in USDT and generated 17,881 BNB in proceeds. On that basis, the recovered amount represents about 84% of the identified proceeds rather than 92%.

The drain involved 79AU tokens moving from a PancakeSwap liquidity pool without payment before being sold into the pool for USDT. 79thVault attributed the incident to weaknesses in account-permission management. The attacker’s identity and the status of the remaining funds were not established.

The recovery came as Bitget faced a separate breach estimated at $388 million. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said she was “not very optimistic” about recovering the full amount, pointing to the roughly 3.5% of funds frozen after Bybit’s 2025 hack.
