79thVault Recovers 15,000 BNB After $12.5 Million Pool Drain
The recovered tokens were worth about $11 million. A separate accounting of the attack puts total proceeds at 17,881 BNB, leaving the final recovery rate unsettled.

79thVault recovered 15,000 BNB after its 79AU liquidity pool was drained Oct. 7, restoring most of the cryptocurrency taken in an attack that 79thVault attributed to weaknesses in account-permission management.
The recovered BNB was worth about $11 million at the time of the return. The initial loss was listed as 16,249 BNB, making the recovery roughly 92% of that amount.
A separate on-chain accounting identified 17,881 BNB in total proceeds, which would place the recovery rate near 84%. The differing totals leave the final recovery percentage unsettled.
The attack involved the movement of 2.01 million 79AU tokens from a PancakeSwap liquidity pool in seven transactions between 3:25 and 4:25 a.m. ET (07:25–08:25 UTC) on Oct. 7. The tokens were then sold through about 95 trades, while the pool’s USDT reserves fell from approximately $15.2 million to $3.9 million.
79thVault plans to add the recovered BNB back to the liquidity pool and permanently burn the liquidity-provider tokens created through the process. The attacker’s identity and the status of the remaining funds have not been established.
