OpenAI Uses Day 6 Sprint Slot To Reset Global Usage Allowances
The automatic reset will refresh qualifying accounts before the end of the day and cannot be saved for later use.

OpenAI is using Day 6 of its 28-day product sprint to refresh usage allowances globally, giving qualifying Codex and ChatGPT Work accounts an automatic reset before the end of the day.
Thibault Sottiaux, OpenAI’s product and platform lead, announced the reset as the company’s scheduled Day 6 improvement. Users do not need to claim the allowance manually.
The sprint calls for OpenAI to deliver either a daily improvement experienced by most Codex and ChatGPT Work users or a usage-allowance reset. Day 6 did not bring a new feature under that schedule.
The reset differs from the allowance reset offered on Day 3. That earlier reset was “banked,” meaning users could save it for later, while the new global usage-allowance reset cannot be retained for future use.
