A video posted Sunday alleges that physically altered Ledger wallets sold through a Malaysian reseller enabled more than $80 million in cryptocurrency theft, raising security concerns for Bitcoin (BTC) users.

The video, posted by The Bitcoin Historian, claims the reseller had been listed as an official authorized seller for years. It alleges that criminals inserted microscopic spy chips into wallets, repackaged the devices and shipped them to customers.

The footage further alleges that the modified wallets silently captured users’ private keys, the credentials needed to authorize transactions. The post did not provide additional details about the reseller, the affected customers or the timing of the alleged theft.
