Meta’s Muse Sees Daily Downloads Fall 8.1% as Users Reach Record
Estimated daily downloads averaged about 165,000 through Oct. 7, while worldwide daily active users reached 2,730,919 on Oct. 6.

Meta’s Muse personal AI agent recorded slower estimated user acquisition in the week through Oct. 7, even as worldwide daily active users reached a new high less than a month after its U.S. launch.
Estimated downloads averaged about 165,000 per day during the seven-day period, down 8.1% from roughly 180,000 in the previous week. Estimated downloads reached about 170,000 on Oct. 6, 21.1% below the estimated peak of about 215,000 recorded Sept. 24.
The estimated worldwide daily-user count peaked at 2,730,919 on Oct. 6. Average daily net additions fell to about 74,000 in the seven days through Oct. 6, compared with about 198,000 per day during the Sept. 15-22 comparison period, a 62.4% decline.
Combined Android and iOS reviews also decreased 11.6% week over week to 4,716. The figures are estimates rather than official download, user or review data published by Meta.
Meta announced Muse on Sept. 8 as a personal AI agent that can send email, book travel and browse the internet for users. The service launched in the United States on iOS, Android and the web, with broader availability planned.
Unlike a conventional chatbot, Muse is designed to keep working after a user closes the app. It requests approval before sensitive actions, including sending email or making purchases, and operates inside a dedicated “Muse Secure VM” containing the agent and the user’s data.
“Each person stays in control of their Muse and decides how much access it gets,” Meta said.
Users can disconnect services, change permissions and opt out of having their interactions used to train Meta’s artificial intelligence models.
Meta founder, chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has described Muse as central to the company’s long-term AI strategy. “The centerpiece of our vision for what we're building is Muse,” Zuckerberg said. He also said he expects the product to become a personal superintelligence used by billions of people.
The latest estimates follow earlier growth in Muse downloads after the app’s launch. Meta has not published official download, daily-active-user or review figures, and has not disclosed Muse’s retention or revenue.
