Based Says Trading Wallet and App Were Unaffected by Card Data Incident
The team has notified Singapore’s data-protection regulator and police while continuing to support affected users.

Based said its trading wallet and app remain unaffected after a recent card data incident, while the team has notified regulators and police and begun responding to affected users.
The team contacted Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and other relevant regulators, and filed a police report. It is cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
Based said its card service remains operational. Its trading wallet uses a self-custodial model, meaning the platform does not hold users’ private keys. Social login is provided by Privy, and users can continue trading through the app.
The team also addressed discussion of an administrator backend that was exposed five months ago. Based said that system was unrelated to the card data incident and contained no user data. It was an early internal test version of a custodial OpenClaw product developed in March 2026; the project was later discontinued and never launched.
Based said its immediate priorities are supporting affected users, strengthening security controls and monitoring, and continuing development of its trading experience.
