Ledger Limits CryptoBilis Theft Cases as Traced Losses Reach $93.2M
Blockchain analysis identified $10 million in frozen Tether across 20 wallets, while a separate estimate put losses at $94.5 million.

Ledger said Monday that confirmed CryptoBilis-related wallet theft cases remain limited to devices sold through the Southeast Asian reseller, as traced losses reached as much as $93.2 million across six blockchain networks.
Blockchain analysis linked the funds to 315 wallets and identified $10 million in Tether (USDT) frozen across 20 wallets. About $81 million remained traceable on-chain as of 2 a.m. ET (06:00 UTC) Oct. 11, a tracking estimate rather than a recovery total.
Ledger said it found an unauthorized hardware implant in at least one affected device. The company has not established publicly whether the implant caused the losses and said it found no indication that its security infrastructure, systems or direct sales channels were compromised.
A separate estimate put the losses at $94.5 million across 521 addresses on seven blockchains, leaving the total unconfirmed. Ledger listed CryptoBilis as an authorized reseller and urged customers not to initialize unused devices. Customers who already initialized one were told to move assets to a new device with a newly generated recovery phrase.
