Ledger Probes Fund Losses After Implant Found in Reseller Device
The company said one affected device contained an unauthorized hardware implant and urged customers to avoid unauthorized resellers.

Ledger is investigating fund losses reported by Southeast Asian customers after confirming that one device sold through a Malaysia-based reseller contained an unauthorized hardware implant.
The company said Sunday that it is working with authorities and has contacted affected customers. Ledger also said the number of impacted products was limited, but did not disclose the amount of money lost.
The investigation began Friday after customers reported losses involving devices purchased from CryptoBilis, a Kuala Lumpur-based reseller. Ledger advised customers who bought devices through the reseller not to set them up.
Ledger said CryptoBilis has stopped selling its hardware wallets. The company also warned that products from unauthorized resellers may be suspicious, counterfeit or modified and may not operate under Ledger’s security processes.
Ledger confirmed the implant in one affected device Saturday. The company is continuing its investigation with relevant authorities.
