A cryptocurrency holder in Saint-Juéry, France, sold all of his digital assets after armed intruders entered his home and demanded access to his wallet, followed weeks later by the appearance of masked people near a relative’s residence.

The two masked men entered Lucas’ home in early September and used a gun to threaten him. One attacker hit him on the head with the butt of a gun, while facial recognition unlocked his phone.

The intruders were unable to obtain funds. Lucas used tear-gas spray to force them to leave.

Five masked people later appeared outside the home of one of Lucas’ relatives overnight from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1, prompting further safety concerns.

“I no longer have any cryptocurrency. I sold everything. Don’t come looking for me again!” Lucas said.

French police are investigating the case.
