Alibaba is extending its Qwen artificial intelligence strategy into wearable hardware with the Qwen Glasses N1 and N1 Pro, connecting cameras and voice controls to the company’s payment, commerce, mapping and travel services.

Both models feature a 50-megapixel sensor for first-person high-definition capture. The N1 Pro adds eye tracking, visual interaction, object recognition and iris-based payments.

Preorders opened Sept. 22, 2026, in China, with official sales scheduled for Oct. 13, 2026, in China. The launch announcement did not include U.S. pricing, availability or international launch timing.

The glasses integrate Qwen with Alipay, Amap, Taobao, Fliggy and music services. Those connections support payments, navigation, shopping, travel alerts and voice-controlled assistance.

Alibaba first presented its Quark AI Glasses on July 28, 2025. The earlier lineup included the S1, priced from 3,799 yuan, and the G1, priced from 1,899 yuan. The S1 included dual micro-OLED displays and up to 24 hours of battery life, while the G1 weighed 40 grams.

“AI glasses are a uniquely powerful wearable as they consist of everything we envision for an AI assistant,” Wu Jia, vice president of Alibaba Group, said in the product announcement.

In July 2025, the Qwen model series had more than 400 million downloads and more than 140,000 derivative models. Alibaba is positioning Qwen as a consumer platform that combines near-eye interfaces with its broader commerce, payments, mapping and travel businesses.

The strategy places Alibaba in the expanding AI-glasses market alongside Meta and Chinese hardware companies. Meta is pursuing its own glasses strategy, including plans to bring its Muse personal AI agent to the devices.

The N1 series is scheduled to reach official sales in China on Oct. 13, 2026.
