Filecoin Brings Proof-of-Data-Presence System Live on Mainnet
The system is designed to verify storage integrity and address concerns about data security and provider reliability.

Filecoin’s proof-of-data-presence (PDP) system is now live on its mainnet, adding a storage-integrity mechanism designed to improve confidence in its decentralized file-storage network.
PDP targets concerns about data security and storage-provider reliability. Filecoin allows users to rent out unused storage space through its decentralized network.
The rollout comes as demand increases for secure and reliable storage solutions. Stronger confidence in stored-file integrity could support engagement with Filecoin’s services.
Separately, the Filecoin network’s Solstice upgrade is scheduled for Oct. 19 at 8:59:30 a.m. ET (12:59:30 UTC). The upgrade will be mandatory for Filecoin mainnet node operators and storage providers.
Filecoin refers to the decentralized storage network, while Filecoin (FIL) is its native asset.
