Ledger has ordered distributors across Southeast Asia and Hong Kong to suspend sales and remove its hardware wallets while it investigates a supply-chain security incident involving tampered devices.

The pause covers distributors in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Ledger said the confirmed cases remain limited to Southeast Asia and that it has not verified stolen funds linked to devices purchased in other regions.

Ledger’s security team, Ledger Donjon, will examine the devices it receives to determine where in the distribution chain they were altered. The company previously confirmed that devices sold by Southeast Asian distributor CryptoBilis contained a malicious component.

Ledger said there is currently no indication that its infrastructure, systems, services or direct sales channels were breached. The investigation will continue as the company reviews the affected devices and the regional distribution process.
