Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the AI industry should not tolerate cybersecurity incidents, arguing that stronger containment and monitoring could prevent AI agents from causing harm.

“I’m willing to accept no incidents of cybersecurity. We should not accept any of them,” Huang said in a London interview. He added that developers should do everything they can to avoid such incidents.

Huang said incidents involving AI agents could have been prevented with stronger containment and monitoring. He compared the safeguards to web browsers that run websites in isolation, preventing them from accessing the rest of a computer. AI agents, he said, should be placed in secure containers that restrict their actions and monitored.

Huang also said AI was “completely in our control.” Responding to people who believe the technology could end human civilization, he said they “really ought to stop working on it.”

Huang’s comments revisit his focus on containing and evaluating AI systems. In a Sept. 23 interview, he said labs unable to contain experiments that could escape and damage the world should shut down. Huang’s earlier comments on AI containment also addressed testing systems before release.

Huang’s European tour began in Paris on Tuesday and included London. It is due to include Berlin later this month. He said Nvidia plans to announce $2 billion in new investments in Europe within the next week, in addition to $8 billion the company has already committed to the region.
