Mark Karpelès Catalogs 14 Ledger Devices in Tampering and Counterfeit Cases
Former Mt.Gox CEO Mark Karpelès’ personal compilation covers seven named sellers and invites submissions of additional cases.

Former Mt.Gox CEO Mark Karpelès has assembled a public catalog of 14 Ledger hardware wallets tied to tampering or counterfeiting cases, creating a single index of devices flagged for security concerns.
Karpelès’ listings cover seven named sellers. Examples include devices with added circuitry and counterfeit units missing a security element, and each entry links to an underlying report. The page draws on public reports and images posted on X.
The catalog is a personal open-source intelligence project, not an official Ledger investigation conclusion. It also accepts submissions of additional cases.
Karpelès previously warned that altered Ledger devices could expose wallet recovery phrases, a concern covered in TokenPost’s earlier report on his warning.
